Know God's Plan
God loves you and has a plan for your life.
“For God so loved the world that He gave his one and only son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life.”
John 3:16
God's plan is for you to have eternal life. Eternal life means you can experience a full and meaningful life right here on earth.
“I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.” John 10:10
Eternal life also means that when you die, you can spend eternity with Jesus in heaven.
“And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.” John 14:3
Admit your Sin
The Bible says, however, we are all sinners. Sin is falling short of God's plan for your life.
“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” Romans 3:23
Because of your sin, you are separated from God. The price for your sin is death or eternal separation from God.
“For the wages of sin is death.” Romans 6:23
You can't earn your way into heaven by doing good deeds or by being a moral person.
“For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith - and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God - not by works, so that no one can boast.” Ephesians 2:8-9
Believe God's Answer
Because God loves you, He sent Jesus to die on the cross so your sins could be forgiven.
“But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 5:8
On the cross, Jesus was willing to take upon Himself all the punishment your sin deserves so you could be reconciled with God.
“For Christ died for sins once for all, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God.” I Peter 3:18
Accepting Jesus' gift of salvation is the only way to spend eternity in heaven.
“I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.” John 14:6
What is your Response?
Admit to God that you're a sinner. Turn away from your sins and turn to God.
“Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out.” Acts 3:19
Place your faith in God's Son, Jesus. Faith is not just believing facts about Jesus. Faith is trusting in Jesus and being dependent upon him.
“I have declared to both Jews and Greeks that they must turn to God in repentance and have faith in our Lord Jesus.” Acts 20:21
Make Jesus your Lord by giving Jesus control of your life.
“If you confess with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord' and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” Romans 10:9
Pray and ask God to forgive you. Ask Jesus to come into your heart and become your Lord and Savior.
“Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” Romans 10:13
